Science is the cornerstone on which Global Food Technologies is founded. We have developed a hurdle technology, a combination of scientific interventions to achieve superior efficacy by combining pressure, temperature, vacuum, UV disinfected water and an environmentally friendly organic antimicrobial solution targeted at the elimination of disease causing pathogens and other spoilage organisms in food products.

Our globally patented technologies are focused on the elimination of food poisoning due to the ingestion of E.coli, Salmonella, Listeria, Campylobacter, Vibrio and other deadly pathogens which too frequently contaminate food products during the farming, processing, and packaging stages. Our turn-key systems are integrated into food processing facilities and operate in a cleanroom environment.
 

   

The prokaryotic (bacteria) membrane is the site of action for cellular metabolism and is the focal point of our science which is specifically calibrated to destroy bacteria by attacking the membranes of prokaryotic cells while leaving the eukaryotic (tissue) cells of the product intact. A prokaryotic cell has a free-floating strand of genetic material and is defined by its cell wall and membrane. Fluctuating hypo and hypertonic osmotic processes, temperature gradients, and varying pH differentials created by exposure to an organic antimicrobial agent in our pressure chamber produces a synergism that destroys prokaryotic cells. The eukaryotic cells are unharmed because of their complex structure consisting of an outside cellular membrane and numerous internal membranes which are resistant to treatment with the organic antimicrobial solution under pressure. The calculated combination of these processes yields a lethal effect to the pathogens, is harmless to consumers, and leaves the product intact with no changes to the organoleptics or nutritional value of the product.

Our processing cleanroom is created by unilaminar airflow, positive air pressure, and HEPA filtration to mitigate cross-contamination. In addition, the ambient temperature of the processing room is tightly controlled to suppress microbial proliferation on the product and food contact surfaces.
